You certainly don’t need me to tell you that Chris Joslin doesn’t mess around. When this dude steps on his board, it’s usually with the intention of doing something most skateboarders wouldn’t even think about. His video parts are filled with clips that could easily be enders for most other skaters, and this latest mission to conquer a massive 360 flip for Independent Trucks is no exception. Take a look:

This is the kind of spot nobody wants to jump down for too long, but that sort of comes with the territory, you know? I mean, what do you expect? But in true Joslin fashion, he gets a few warm ups out of the way before testing the waters with a couple of ollies. Not long after, the battle begins.

I like that the edit is just raw and unpolished. The little cutaways make it feel like we’re there on the session, which I always enjoy, but it also puts us in a position of really feeling the effort and energy that goes into securing a clip like this. It’s not the gnarliest trick Joslin has ever battled, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t super buck all the same. That in itself says a lot, actually.
It’s one of those sessions that really shows us all exactly what it takes to be one of the greats. The prep. The pressure. The pain. It’s all there. But so is the payoff. Because the one he eventually stomps and rolls away from seriously couldn’t have been better.

From the contest course to the streets and everywhere in between, Joslin continues to charge along unforgivingly, and I love to see it. He’s just one of those all-or-nothing kind of skateboarders, and honestly, we really don’t get as much of that these days as we used to.
This is the kind of stuff that keeps skateboarding honest, if you ask me. No gimmicks. No shortcuts. Just that burning desire inside to keep progressing and keep stacking. Mission complete.
