Steve Caballero is a skateboarding legend. Facts are facts. But I’ll tell you what—I love me some “StreetCab” footage! Steve recently shared some rare footage from 2005 on his Instagram and it’s stacked with some clips that, in my humble opinion, we just don’t get enough of. Take a look:

When we think of Cab, we think—Bones Brigade, vertical ripping, miles of deep-end tile sliding, and of course, decades of consistency. But we don’t always think of him ripping the streets with that same grit and gusto. At least not enough.

I watch these clips and I’m immediately reminded how deep his bag really is, and more importantly, it really shows us just how well-rounded of a skateboarder he’s always been. (In case we even needed a reminder, which we don’t.)
Also, 2005 was a great year. Skateboarding was a lot different back then, for better or worse, but this is the Cab I remember watching in old 411‘s and stuff. There was always a blend of both—all terrain, all day—and I always thought that was the coolest thing. Heavy mid-2000s energy here!
These days it’s sort of the norm. Everyone rips! And everyone rips everything. But that wasn’t always the case back then. Shoutout to Cab for digging this stuff up. It’s always a pleasure to get a glimpse of the past—especially when it still hits this hard.
