Today is Accel Day. Today we celebrate 30 years of one of skateboarding’s most beloved shoe companies. Two letter, countless inspiration—èS Footwear.
I’m 35 years old. Who cares? I know. But I’m just setting the stage here. èS was one of the first skate shoe companies that really wrapped me in. Menikmati? That VHS was on repeat for years, decades, whatever. You do the math. I’ve skated many pairs of Accels and I’m saying all of this to let you that the official, original Accel reissue is back. Not the “Accel OG” not the “Accel Slim”—just the Accel. And yes, we’re stoked. Take a look:

éS Skateboarding is proud to mark Accel Day 2025 with the long-awaited return of the original Accel, the groundbreaking skate shoe that first launched in 1995 and set a new standard for skateboarding footwear.
For the first time in over two decades, the original Accel returns to the product line—distinct from the Accel OG introduced in the early 2000s, which remains in the line today. While the Accel OG has become iconic in its own right, it was the original Accel—with its sleeker profile, lower toe box, and tighter overall silhouette—that helped define a generation of skateboarding.
“To me, the 1995 Accel was the perfect skate shoe,” says Kelly Hart, éS team manager and brand advocate. “We’ve been pushing behind the scenes to bring it back in its true form for years. For Accel Day, it just made sense to reintroduce the version that started it all.”
Beloved for its classic styling, skate-ready shape, and unmatched board feel, the original Accel helped carry the likes of Tom Penny, PJ Ladd and many other upper-echelon skaters to cement their influence as skateboarding royalty. Skaters will now be able to lace up the same shape that inspired those defining eras.

The Accel was released in 1995 and became an instant classic in skateboarding. You might’ve worn them, your favorite pros wore them and some of skateboarding’s heaviest hitters wear them (or at least a version of them) today. 30 years later, the shoe is still here. That has to tell you something. Cheers to éS for reaching such a heavy milestone.
