Ottawa native Gabriela Dabrowski captured her fourth WTA doubles title of the season on Monday, teaming with Brazil’s Luisa Stefani to beat Americans Anna Rogers and Allura Zamarripa 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 in the final of the SP Open in Brazil.
The final was completed after rain suspended play on Sunday with Dabrowski and Stefani leading 4-3 in the first set.
The victory marks the first time in Dabrowski’s career that she has won four titles in one season.
Dabrowski and Stefani teamed up to win titles in Dubai, Strasbourg and Eastbourne earlier this year.

They also reached the final at Wimbledon and the semifinals at the Australian Open, French Open and U.S. Open and clinched their spot in the WTA Finals earlier this month.
Dabrowski has a world doubles ranking of No. 5 after reaching a career-high mark of No. 2 earlier this year.
Canada’s Leylah Fernandez is through to the second round of the Singapore Tennis Open following a 6-2, 6-3 win over Japan’s Kyoka Okamura on Monday.
Fernandez, who is seeded sixth at the WTA 500 event, was challenged by the Japanese qualifier more than the scoreline suggested, as the match took two hours 19 minutes to complete.

The first set contained a total of 23 deuce points, with Fernandez defending 11 of 12 break points faced while converting three of 12.
Fernandez outaced her 30-year-old opponent 4-0.
The 24-year-old from Laval, Que., will next face the winner of a match between American Alycia Parks and Japan’s Mei Yamaguchi. Fernandez entered the tournament ranked No. 31 in the world.
