HIFI Wants To Connect Bank Money, Stablecoins And Tokenized Assets
HIFI provides APIs designed to connect traditional bank rails with stablecoin settlement.
The company says its infrastructure currently processes more than $7 billion in annualized volume across 87 countries.
That business started largely around moving money.
The next stage is broader.
HIFI says the Series A will help expand card products, stablecoin payments and infrastructure used around tokenized securities and capital-market transactions.
The company participated in DTCC’s July production trades involving DTC-tokenized assets alongside firms including BlackRock, Goldman Sachs and Nasdaq.
It has also partnered with Visa on stablecoin-funded payouts that can reach billions of Visa cards.
Those integrations give HIFI a position between the blockchain layer and the financial institutions that ultimately need cash settlement, compliance and distribution.
Tokenized Markets Still Need A Cash Side
Much of the attention around tokenization goes to the asset.
A Treasury security, stock or fund share gets represented onchain and suddenly the transaction looks modern.
But every trade still has another side.
Someone needs to deliver the money.
That is where stablecoin infrastructure becomes particularly interesting.
Tokenized capital markets work far better if the cash leg can move with the same speed and programmability as the security being traded.
HIFI is betting that the infrastructure connecting those two sides can become a substantial financial-services business.
The $37 million round does not come with a disclosed valuation.
It does provide the company with more capital to build into a market where traditional payments, stablecoins and securities settlement are increasingly converging.
Stablecoins used to be mostly a way for crypto traders to hold dollars between trades.
Companies like HIFI are betting the bigger opportunity is making them part of the infrastructure underneath everything else.
