It goes without saying, but skateboarding wouldn’t be the same without the mind of Jim Phillips. And he’s still cranking out art and graphics to this day. From Santa Cruz, California, to the entire world—he’s the man behind the hand.
I’ve personally heard nothing but great things about the film, which is why I’m trying my best to make it to this screening. The Screaming Hand and Santa Cruz ‘Red Dot’ are about as timeless and iconic as graphics get, and we’re barely just scratching the surface of Jim’s work with those. The dude is truly a legend.
