A person was shot and killed at a Scarborough mall Thursday afternoon, according to emergency responders.
Toronto police said in a social media post that they received reports just before 2 p.m. that a person had been shot at Scarborough Town Centre. Officers located an injured person in the area, they said.
Toronto paramedics told CBC Toronto in an email that one person had been pronounced dead at the scene. They did not immediately provide details about the victim’s identity. They said the shooting happened inside the mall.
Police said there is a heavy police presence at the mall as officers investigate.
