Outgoing mayor Maja Vodanovic has lost the extremely tight municipal race in Lachine â by a single vote, according to Ãlections Montréal’s official results.
All 125 polling stations in the borough have been counted. The Projet Montréal candidate was unseated by Ensemble Montréal’s Julie-Pascale Provost, who got 5,062 votes.
Similarly, the election of the borough’s sole city councillor was a very close call. Ensemble Montréal’s Dominic Roussel won the election by only 27 votes over his opponent Myriam Grondin of Projet Montréal.
On Sunday, Montrealers voted for change, making Ensemble Montréal’s Soraya Martinez Ferrada the city’s new mayor after eight years of Projet Montréal rule.
