The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education says the loss of the Grade 8 student at Shelburne Regional High School will be felt widely and that supports are in place at the school for other students.

The RCMP told CBC News in an email on Tuesday that no one has been charged in relation to this incident.

RCMP said on Monday that three “large-breed” dogs had attacked a youth in southern Nova Scotia over the weekend.

The attack was reported in the 100 block of Upper Sandy Cove Road just after 5 p.m. on Saturday, about 12 kilometres north of Shelburne, N.S.

Police said the dogs were euthanized by a veterinarian.
