If you’ve never been to the infamous Florida Swampfest, you should know it isn’t just another event—it’s a full-blown skateboarding apocalypse.
Every year, Florida’s wildest DIY deathtrap (playground?) comes to life in a wild way, but before the real chaos began this year, Jerry Gurney and a handful of other eager rippers arrived early to test the swampy waters. Take a look:

Personally, I love that the edit is raw and has no music. I wasn’t there this year so in my opinion, this is like the next best thing. It’s like we’re right there on the session, watching every attempt, slam and of course, the makes. Love him or hate him, but Gurney’s energy is infectious and if you’ve ever skated with him in real life, you know first hand he brings the stoke.
So, yeah—let’s just say he’s built for an event like Swampfest. He’s got the speed, that wild send-it mentality, and zero fear when it comes to questionable obstacles. And honestly, I’m happy to shoutout Bronson (who also made the video), because if their bearings really can combat the chaos of Swampfest, well, that actually says a lot.
Anyways… From rickety wooden ramps to mud pits, sketchy wallrides, insane ride-on grinds and seriously so much more, Swampfest is designed to break boards and bodies. And year after year, that’s exactly what it does! Haha.
