Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk says he’s frustrated at having to answer repeated questions about his future.
Tkachuk, an American player often rumoured to be eyeing a move to an American NHL team, said he’s committed to the team and city and having to justify that has become a distraction.
He met with reporters Wednesday after the Senators were swept in the first round of the playoffsby the Carolina Hurricanes.
He was not present at locker cleanout Monday to be with his wife Emma following the birth of their second child.
Tkachuk struggled in Ottawa’s brief playoff appearance, failing to register a point over four games.
The 26-year-old forward will enter the sixth season of a seven-year, $57.5 million US contract this coming season and will be eligible for an extension after that.
