Frecks, Goeman, Mumford, Dicola, Pat Burke, Anthony Schultz—the list goes on. The $lave Skateboards team was (and still is) stacked when they dropped Radio-Television and as a debut full-length, this squad left a pretty bold mark on the skateboarding, if you ask me.

Being born-and-raised in North County San Diego, I’m a little biased when it comes to these clips, Slave as a brand and all the dudes on the team. This is truly what I grew up on—these are the dudes my friends and I were trying to emulate in our late teens—and I still get so stoked seeing some golden VX1000 footage. Check the white balance, bro.

I love that Slave is still low-key handling biz these days. It’s a small operation and something tells me that everyone involved wouldn’t have it any other way.
Anyways, like countless others, Radio-Television was on constant repeat when it first came out. In fact, I still watch it pretty often to this day.
It was just a raw, unhinged, no-nonsense skate video and when it came out, it was something we all needed. And to be honest, the way things are today, I wouldn’t mind a little more of it.
