Simon Angers-Audet, 24, was released on Friday on the condition that he remain at his family home and update the RCMP on his movements.

His lawyer, Jessy Héroux, said the Quebec Superior Court overturned a previous decision denying his client bail.

Evidence presented at the bail hearing along with the reasons behind the decision are protected by a publication ban.

Police allege Angers-Audet, Marc-Aurèle Chabot and Raphaël Lagacé took part in an anti-government plot to forcibly take over land in the Quebec City region.

They are facing weapons charges and are accused of facilitating terrorist activity.

Chabot faces the additional charge of instructing individuals to engage in activities for a terrorist group, an offense punishable by life imprisonment.

A fourth individual, Matthew Forbes, of Pont-Rouge, Que., faces charges including possession of firearms, prohibited devices and explosives, and possession of controlled items.

He also faces charges related to the Explosives Act and Defence Production Act, which regulates access to military supplies.

Forbes was granted bail on strict conditions.

Both Chabot and Forbes were active members of the military from Canadian Forces Base Valcartier, near Quebec City, at the time the four men were arrested on July 8.

Evidence gathered by police and released to media outlets detailed how the men appeared to engage in paramilitary training.

Chabot also spoke openly about his will to use violence against government authorities and warned about another Waco massacre in a podcast interview before his arrest.
