Earlier in the session, three Canadian swimmers reached individual finals.

Angus advanced to the final of the women’s 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:29.09.

Ella Jansen will race in the final of the women’s 200m butterfly. The native of Burlington, Ont., qualified with a time of 2:12.32.

Montreal’s Antoine Sauve (1:49.24) and Calgary’s Wigginton (1:49.48) did not advance to the final of the men’s 200m freestyle event.

In athletics competition at Scotstoun Stadium on Wednesday, Brendon Rodney will not be joining his relay teammate Aaron Brown in the semifinals of the men’s 200m. Rodney was disqualified for a lane violation in his opening heat. Fellow Canadian Eliezer Adjibi did not start in the event.

Canadians Frederique Chiasson (23.15) and Marie-Eloise Leclair (23.50) advanced to the semifinals of the women’s 200m.

Foster Malleck was the lone Canadian to reach the final of the men’s one mile, finishing in 3:55.12. Malleck’s Canadian teammates Max Davies (4:01.42) and Aaron Ahl (4:03.30) did not advance.

Canada will play for bronze in both the women’s and men’s 3×3 wheelchair basketball tournaments later Wednesday.

The Canadian men came up short in its semifinal against England, falling 18-13 at the SEC Centre. They will face Scotland in the third-place game at 12:30 p.m. ET.

Canada kept pace with England for most of the game, led by Reed De’Aeth with a game-high 10 points and seven rebounds, including a pair of two-pointers from distance.

Oscar Knight’s nine points and six rebounds led the way for England, going four-for-four from the free throw line to help seal the victory. Thomas Harvey and Peter Cusack added five and four points for England, respectively.

Australia will face England in the final at 1:30 p.m. ET after defeating Scotland 19-12 earlier Wednesday.

The Canadian women also fell to England in their semifinal with an 18-10 loss later Wednesday.

Led by Jade Atkin, England came out strong and held a commanding 12-4 lead before Canada began to find rhythm on offence. Atkin led all players with nine points, while Lucy Robinson added four points in the win.

Canadian veteran Kady Dandeneau powered the team down the stretch, including the lone two-pointer of the game, finishing with four points and eight rebounds.

The Canadians will next play Australia, which fell to Scotland in the other semifinal, 15-12. The bronze-medal match is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET, followed by the final at 2 p.m. ET.
